The GT-Digital™ Microbial Source Tracking (MST) Avian GFD Assay Kit v1.0 for the Bio-Rad QX200™ or QX600™ is a molecular reagent kit containing all primers, probes, and controls necessary for the detection of avian (bird-derived) fecal contamination in environmental water (EW) samples. The target used to detect Avian fecal contamination is GFD, located on the 16S rRNA gene of unclassified Helicobacter spp. This assay allows identification of fecal contamination sources in freshwater environments, including lakes, rivers, reservoirs, groundwater, and stormwater. Assay solutions and appropriate controls are provided to ensure accurate quantification of all targets. When used in conjunction with the Bio-Rad QX200™ Droplet Digital™ PCR System, this kit facilitates reliable microbial source tracking, supporting EW quality assessments and public health surveillance efforts.
