This kit has been validated for use with the following food materials (25 grams in 225 mL Buffered Peptone Water):

• Raw ground beef
• Raw spinach
• Pre-sliced cantaloupe
• Cheddar cheese block
• Deli-style cooked pre-sliced turkey

Each standard kit contains enough material for 96 reactions. Sample kits of 25 reactions are available upon request.

• The GT Real-Time Salmonella and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) Molecular Assay Kit detects genomic loci from Salmonella and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC).
• These molecular reagent kits contain all primers, probes, and controls necessary for the detection of the targets listed. Full workflow is available for use with the GTM qPCR Master Mix and GT-EZ Extraction Kit (sold separately).

Minimal laboratory equipment is required for sample enrichment, extraction, and detection. Required materials and equipment for the GT- EZ Extraction Kit workflow can be found in the complete instructions for use. Please contact us for more details.

Sample enrichment is recommended followed by DNA extraction using the GT-EZ Extraction Kit. Extracted DNA can then be used for RT-PCR using the GTM qPCR Master Mix specifically optimized for our Food & Beverage testing assays. We offer more rapid testing with multiplexed detection of all targets in a single well. With a Rapid sample prep + full workflow that is optimized throughout by GT Molecular Scientists and includes a simple 15-minute extraction with the new GT-EZ Kit is faster than many standard protocols! The 16-hour enrichment is optimized in Buffered Peptone Water for set up in the evening, run tests first thing in the morning.

PCR assay kits should be stored at -20°C. The extraction kit should be stored at room temperature.

Once an order is placed, most assay kits are shipped within 5 business days via FedEx Priority overnight on ice. Extraction kits are shipped separately at ambient temperature.
