GT Real-Time Salmonella Detection Kit for Food & Beverage Testing
Description
(Cat# 101155) – For a package kit that includes extraction kit, contact us.
This assay kit provides users with an end-to-end workflow to detect pathogenic Salmonella species from the following food products: raw chicken breasts, raw ground turkey, chicken carcass rinse, deli turkey, and stainless-steel surface swabs. The GT-EZ Extraction Kit (sold separately, contact us for packaged kit options) comprises a Research Use Only (RUO) reagent kit containing all reagents necessary for the extraction of bacterial DNA from food matrices. The GT Real-Time Salmonella Detection Assay Kit comprises a RUO molecular reagent kit containing all primers, probes, master mix, and controls necessary for the detection of genomic DNA from pathogenic Salmonella. The assay kit is validated for use with the GTM qPCR Master Mix (sold separately, contact us for packaged kit options).
Contents
The GT-EZ Extraction Kit contains two extraction buffers sufficient for 96 preparations. The GT Real-Time Salmonella Detection Assay Kit contains one ready-to-use Master Mix, one pre-mixed primer-probe solution sufficient for 96 x 20 μL reactions and two positive control solutions.
Validated Food Matrices
This kit has been validated for use with the following cannabis and food materials in Buffered Peptone Water (BPW):
- Chicken Carcass Rinses (30 mL in 30 mL BPW)
- Raw Chicken Breasts (Up to 375 g in up to 1,125 mL BPW – 1:4 dilution)
- Raw Ground Turkey (Up to 375 g in up to 1,125 mL BPW- 1:4 dilution)
- Deli Turkey (Up to 375 g in up to 1,125 mL BPW – 1:4 dilution)
- Stainless Steel (1 sponge in 50 mL BPW)
For use in other sample types such as pre-sliced cantaloupe, cheddar cheese block, or deli-style cooked pre-sliced turkey contact us.
Equipment
The GT Real-Time Salmonella Detection Assay Kit is validated for use with the Agilent AriaMx™, Thermo Fisher QuantStudio™ 5, and Bio-Rad CFX96™ Real-Time PCR Systems. Other systems capable of reading FAM, SUN/HEX, Texas Red/ROX, and Cy5 fluorophores are likely compatible but may require further optimization.
The workflow consists of four steps, sample enrichment, DNA extraction, Real-Time PCR, and analysis. For questions or recommendations regarding the workflow below, please contact us.
