GT Real-Time Salmonella & STEC Detection Assay Kit for Cannabis Testing

SKU: 100655-cannabis

Description

(Cat# 100655) – Bundle that includes extraction kit. For purchasing components separately, contact us.

This bundled assay kit provides users with an end-to-end workflow to detect pathogenic Salmonella and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) species from the following cannabis and food products: dried cannabis flower, cannabis-infused chocolates, cannabis-infused gummies, cannabis concentrates, and raw spinach. The GT-EZ Extraction Kit (sold separately, contact us for packaged kit options) comprises a Research Use Only (RUO) reagent kit containing all reagents necessary for the extraction of bacterial DNA from food matrices. The GT Real-Time Salmonella and STEC Detection Assay Kit comprises a RUO molecular reagent kit containing all primers, probes, master mix, and controls necessary for the detection of Salmonella and STEC genomic DNA. The assay kit is validated for use with the GTM qPCR Master Mix (sold separately, contact us for packaged kit options).

Contents

The GT-EZ Extraction Kit v1.0 contains two extraction buffers sufficient for 96 preparations. The GT Real-Time Salmonella and STEC Detection Assay Kit contains one ready-to-use Master Mix, one pre-mixed primer-probe solution sufficient for 96 x 20 μL reactions and two positive control solutions.

Validated Food Matrices

AOAC submission in progress. This kit has been validated for use with the following cannabis and food materials in either Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB) for cannabis samples or Buffered Peptone Water (BPW):

  • Dried cannabis flower (10 g in 90 mL TSB)
  • Cannabis-infused chocolate (25 g in 225 mL TSB)
  • Cannabis-infused gummies (25 g in 225 mL TSB)
  • Raw spinach (Up to 375 g in 1,124 mL BPW – 1:4 dilution)

For use in other sample types such as pre-sliced cantaloupe, cheddar cheese block, or deli-style cooked pre-sliced turkey contact us.

Equipment

The GT Real-Time Salmonella and STEC Detection Assay Kit is validated for use with the Agilent AriaMx™, Thermo Fisher QuantStudio™ 5, and Bio-Rad CFX96™ Real-Time PCR Systems. Other systems capable of reading FAM, SUN/HEX, Texas Red/ROX, and Cy5 fluorophores are likely compatible but may require further optimization.

The workflow consists of four steps, sample enrichment, DNA extraction, Real-Time PCR, and analysis. For questions or recommendations regarding the workflow below, please contact us.
